Avoid the Jellyfish with the Medusas Ibiza App
For anyone who has been stung by a Jellyfish knows it can be a painful experience but now you can now avoid the Jellyfish with the Medusas Ibiza App before you even leave for a day out at the beach.
Several species of jellyfish are found in the waters around Ibiza and due to their translucent nature, they are sometimes hard to spot especially when you are already in the water.
Due to the fact that they move around on the sea currents, it is somewhat unpredictable where they will appear next and their sudden appearance can easily ruin a day at the beach or a day swimming and snorkelling from on board your favourite boat.
Two friends in Ibiza, Ismael and Roel, have put together a handy app which shows the beaches of Ibiza and also whether there are Jellyfish present or not.
Based around a map of Ibiza and Formentera the app shows each of the beaches and notifications of recent Jellyfish sightings.
Clicking on each beach it shows the last few reports of Jellyfish and also a prediction of the likelihood of seeing them on the present day.
When in Ibiza you can also report your own sightings of Jellyfish so others won’t be caught out by their presence.
The app also has useful information about the types of Jellyfish native to Ibiza waters as well as important medical advice if you are stung by them.
As a secondary bonus, the beach information within the App is very comprehensive with detailed descriptions, photos and information about the facilities so it is perfect for planning a day out to an Ibizan beach.
The app is available on both Android and iOS for free here and is a perfect way to avoid the jellyfish with the Medusas Ibiza App.
