Bloop International Proactive Art Festival 2016
The Bloop International Proactive Art Festival is a month long celebration of art with the ethos of “art is for everybody”. Predominantly based in San Antonio, but also taking place in venues across Ibiza it starts on the 16th July and continues until the 16th August.
Since it first ran in 2011 the Bloop festival has grown year on year bringing art to the masses and in 2015 attracted in excess of 90’000 people to its exhibitions, workshops and events.
Each year the event has a theme which this year is titled “no fear” which is very apt with the turmoils of the world being reported day by day.
The most well known legacy of the Bloop festival is the open air gallery mainly based in San Antonio where the sides of buildings have been transformed into huge artworks and several more will be added this year across the time of the festival.
The event will feature interactive installations, graffiti displays, sculpture, fine art, photography, concerts as well creative workshops for children and adults bringing their ethos “art is for everybody” to life.
For those passing by the old lighthouse in San Antonio (between the sunset strip and the port) we advise taking 5 minutes to have a look in at the Bloop HQ where exhibitions and musical performances will be held each evening (closed on Mondays).
You can find a full line up of events on their website here www.bloop-festival.com which includes an interactive map and detials of all events taking place.
