Explore the beauty of Ibiza
Ibiza may only be known as a party island to many people but it is also a beautiful place to explore with amazing views and stunning locations.
On our latest trip to the island we decided to enlist the help of our dear friend and islander Sofi to show us a few of the sights of Ibiza that we’d always wanted to go to but never knew how scattered along the south west coast and close to San An.
Our first stop was Sa Talaia, the highest point on the island. At 475 meters high the views are phenomenal and you get a true 360 degree view.
Located just outside Sant Joseph most of the drive was on winding dirt tracks to where we parked and walked the last few hundred meters to the top. The views from the top are truly incredible of the whole island and you can also see the coast of Formentera.
After enjoying the breathtaking views from Sa Talaia we navigated our way down carefully and headed to one of the most iconic spots on the island Es Vedra.
We have been here before for Sunset but our aim today was to climb up to the tower overlooking the magical rock.
The climb itself is not for the faint-hearted and even in April, with the temperature at around 20c we worked up quite a sweat but we made it to the tower. Closed up for protection and safety it delivered some amazing views of Es Vedra and the rugged coastline and of course the obligatory iconic photo.
This included the hidden gem of Atlantis far below at sea level as well as many of the smaller islands off the coast of Ibiza.
Our last exploratory stop was the sculpture Time and Space – The Speed of Light which was created by Australian artist, Andrew Rogers in 2014 for Guy Laliberte and who’s villa sits close by.
It is a truly unique folly and sits in a dramatic setting on the cliff tops near to an upright pair of doors which offer a truly unique view of Es Vedra far away in the distance.
It was great to get out from the main resorts and explore Ibiza that little bit more, however, a word of caution sturdy footwear and water is essential. You must also be reasonably fit and we would advise going with a local tour guide for your own safety.
There are literally hundreds of places to explore across Ibiza and we highly recommend Walking Ibiza and Secret Ibiza Tours who offer a range of services and tours to explore the beauty of Ibiza with.
