Late April Early May Ibiza Trip
So the white isle is awakening from its winter slumber and a late April early May Ibiza trip makes a fabulous time of year to visit.
The beauty of Ibiza at this time of year with its laid back and relaxed vibe is something to savour and treasure.
It is the perfect time to get out and explore the unique nature, culture and quiet beaches , all forming part of the much needed essentials for a great holiday.
As the weeks roll on more and more venues are opening and by mid May the first Super Club opening parties are taking place.
For those who wish to party in April and May you won’t be disappointed. Eden are hosting several party nights including Sweetcheeks and they are not the only ones… Pacha in Ibiza Town also has a busy weekend schedule planned for the coming weeks.
For those of us that visit the island at this time of year it tends not to be all about the parties. It’s about relaxing on the almost empty beaches where the temperatures tend to be in the low 20s – perfect for sun bathing.
Yes ok, you do need to be a little braver to take a dip in the clear blue seas but people do and its the perfect time to learn a new skill such as paddle boarding.
We have had great fun with SUP Paradise Ibiza in the early season, with very few boats causing waves making it a dream to learn and excel on the water.
As the resorts come alive everyone’s favourite restaurants open their shutters and booking a table is easy, relaxed and a joy. Our favourite Tapas Ibiza opens on the 26th April.
We cannot wait to be sat on their terrace enjoying some great food with such an incredible atmosphere, although as the sun goes down it is sensible to have a lightweight jacket handy as it can get a little nippy after dark at this time of year.
Driving and exploring the island is incredible. At this time of year we have driven miles and not seen a soul. It’s easy to find yourself losing hours just exploring after coming across little hamlets and villages with that perfect old style cafe for you to while away a few hours.
The owners are all relaxed after their winter breaks, happy to chat and you learn so much from them about good places to explore, where to eat and what to do.
As much as by August the locals may have a few gripes about the numbers of visitors and the chaos those numbers bring they do really appreciate the tourism and the income it generates.
Onto the practical items flights and accommodation. It has to be said not only are the flights but the accommodation prices exceptionally reasonable this year. Below is just a tiny sample for the first week of May.
We found return flights well into May with Ryanair for less than £50 return from most of the UK regional airports.
Easyjet summer flights start early May and they are also very affordable with choice dates coming in at £75 return.
We have a full flight schedule here so you can easily check out flights from your local airport with dates and days of flights.
Added to this there are some incredible early season accommodation deals to be had from the simple but perfectly formed hostels and hotels to the more higher end apartments and villas.
