Pintxa Food Festival San Antonio 2017
This week sees the start of the 6 week long Pintxa Food Festival San Antonio, a celebration of small edible delicacies – the Pintxo.
The event runs from the 9th of March until the 13th of April held on each Thursday between 8pm and midnight.
Participating restaurants and bars produce a small delicacy Pintxo – a skewer or a delight on bread for €2.50 or a larger tapas for €4.50 both include a beer or a glass of wine.
There is also a new addition this year the “Caprincho” which is a larger more exclusive bite to eat which highlights each restaurant’s specialties.
The tourist train will run a circular route around San Antonio every Thursday taking guests between establishments so it’s like a restaurant crawl.
With 37 restaurants taking part and judging taking place each week this is a hotly fought competition and the winner for the last two years Bar Es Puig not appearing to take part this year the title is truly up for grabs.
Our recommendations to check out are Tapas Ibiza, Flaherty’s Irish Pub and Lunatics to name but just a couple although the more the merrier in our eyes.
It is also a great social occasion with groups of friends visiting establishments together enjoying some great conversations, amazing food and sampling the best of what San Antonio’s restaurants and bars have to offer.
The event is being run a little later in the year than before which opens it up to the first early season tourists for the last few weeks, so what better way to indulge yourself in local and international gastronomic delights than joining the islanders for a tour of San Antonio’s finest eateries.
