rEJEKT winter at Pacha Ibiza

As the winter party season comes to an end and the summer season dawns rEJEKT are holding one last fling at Pacha this Friday, 7th April, from 23.30 until the early hours.

For their final winter party you can catch Haiku 575, Buckley & Jon Woodall, Roots & Sanchez with support from Ian Taylor.

In speaking to the guys from rEJEKT who have hosted four parties over this winter it has given us a fascinating insight into Ibiza partying in the closed season.

It’s a more intimate and experimental scene full of familiar faces – those that call Ibiza home for 12 months of the year.  It’s a deep contrast to the summer season with its changing crowd dynamics.

Label Boss & Musical Director Iain Taylor had this to say about putting on parties during the off season in Ibiza “For us, keeping our momentum going through the winter in Ibiza is essential!

Speak to any of the Spanish who were born and bred in Ibiza and for most of them, Pacha is their favourite club. It’s the only so called “superclub” open all year round and they offer people who live in Ibiza free entry before 02:30 (which is early for Ibiza).
You also have a real core of people who make the island tick through the summer who chose to stay on the island all year round and for many the winter is their favourite time of year.”

“We close the club off to create a much more intimate gathering, the DJ booth is moved to ground level which creates a real connection with the floor and keep the bookings balanced between fresh exciting international artists and solid island based support.”
“So many people turn up in the spring and leave in autumn, which is fine but you miss something that way i feel. Ibiza is such a different place when she is wrapped in the noise and furore of summer and the connection that we make with the indigenous population and the international community who chose to live on this beautiful island all year around is so integral to us taking our warm and friendly family vibe into the fray that is drenched in the sun’s rays”

For many of us, Ibiza is a week a year, a few short trips or even a quick dash over for the opening or closing parties but Ibiza is open all year round be it for residents or for the growing number of winter tourists.

It is fantastic to see that the club scene all be it on a smaller more intimate scale is thriving over the winter season.  It’s experimental and truly is the essence of Ibiza we all love through and through.

So this weekend if you`re on the island get down to Pacha early and celebrate in style at the rEJEKT winter closing party.
