Space is renamed Hï Ibiza
Despite rumors and even interviews from the owners Ushuaia Group that Space would keep its name for 2017, today they have announced that the new name is to be HÏ Ibiza.
The details came in a press release issued this morning, although we acknowledge that Danny Kay first broke the story last week when he saw the new name appear briefly on Google Maps.
But alongside the name change came a few all be it scarce details of what we can expect this summer.
The rebranded and refurbished venue will feature “the highest standards of music and entertainment, bringing world-class music experiences to a club designed with the dancer in mind.”
They also add that they intend to “stay true to the open-minded spirit of Ibiza, bringing together music lovers to dance, discover and experience the magic of the White Isle.”
Re the music policy, this is the only hint they offer that the club will “showcase the most exciting names in electronic music…from the biggest stars in the scene to the leading lights of the underground”.
Outside the official information, we know that the club is currently being refurbished and is likely to feature a more VIP feel which may or may not suit everyone.
What is definitely confirmed is that Space as we knew and loved it is no more and for 2017 we say hello to HÏ Ibiza.
