This is one of the most beautiful times to visit Ibiza, as the island starts to come out of its hibernation from the winter months and its much quieter tourist-wise than the peak summer months. It’s the perfect time for taking in some glorious walks or cycle rides across the island checking out the amazing flora, fauna, deserted beaches and the incredible views.
The daytime temperatures can reach 22c with a massive 10 hours of sunshine. Although be warned it is recommended that you take a jacket as the evenings can be much cooler dropping to around 12c.
The sea can be a little fresh at 16c but great for those who are a little brave or just want to paddle and ideal for a lazy day at the beach, enjoying some real peace and quite and still topping up that tan. However, make sure you take your own food and snacks as the beach concessions usually do not open until May.
Ibiza town never really sleeps and the majority of the shops will be open as well as many of the bars, restaurants around the harbour. The historic Dalt Villa is a great place to explore with its narrow streets, hidden treasures and breathtaking views and new for this year is an audio tour which you can find out more about here.
San Antonio is a little quieter with only a handful of shops, bars and restaurants open but Mint Lounge on the Sunset Strip is open from late March and many of the more popular local restaurants are open. For those of you who like some English food the Fish Ibiza is open all year round.
Across the island many of the local cafes and restaurants are open but it can be a little hit and miss so if you are off exploring our advice is to pack a few essentials with you just in case.
The famous Hippy Market at Es Canar is open each Wednesday from the 6th April and is a fantastic place to lose many an hour looking at the abundance of crafts, jewellery, clothing and other knick knacks on offer.
Nightlife wise Pacha and Sankeys do have some events on in April but only at weekends whilst areas such as Playa den Bossa and the West End are pretty much deserted at the start of April but are fully open by the start of May.
We would recommend hiring a car for a few days if you wish to explore the island as the buses are less frequent than in the summer and the water taxis are not in operation, however, on the plus side parking is so much easier no matter where you go.
All in all spring is a fantastic time to visit Ibiza if you are looking for a few quiet relaxed days away at a fantastic price. The island is warm and starting to explode into life and will show you a different side to it that many miss by only visiting during the summer months.
