A chance encounter with a long serving summer worker (into his 10th year) at the Fish Ibiza provided a surprising answer which was further backed up by a conversation with another long term Ibiza resident.
This year it seems that there are lots of workers but they just don’t seem to be able to get their head around the fact that they are in Ibiza to work.

Last year, we met Ed, a 33 year old teacher and DJ who was spending his first full season working in Ibiza. Like us, he has a shared love of Ibiza so this week I met up with him to reminisce and to get the lowdown on Ibiza from a workers point of view.
You spent your first season working in Ibiza in 2014. What made you do it?
Those delightful people behind Ocean Beach and Ocean Mania took a huge step in 2015 and transformed the worker’s accommodation market in San Antonio.
Gone are the days of 7 or 8 of you crammed into an apartment designed for 2 – 4, or staying in a huge block with who knows what knocking on your door at 3am.
They have invested heavily in what was the Hostel Apolo and they have revamped and re-launched it as Apolo Accommodation.
