The Oldest and Biggest Hippy Market in Ibiza
One of the mainstays of the island are the hippies who travelled across to the island in the 1960s and started the revolution that has made Ibiza what it is today.
As much as the hedonistic lifestyle is not the first thing to come to mind when you think of Ibiza, the Hippy Markets are thriving, with the oldest and biggest held at Club Punta Arabia, Es Cana, every Wednesday.
With over 500 stalls at Club Punta Arabia and visitor numbers that the super clubs would struggle to contain, it is an extremely worthwhile day out.
Looking around you cannot help but fall in love with so many of the items on offer, from gold and silver jewellery to art work to adorn every room in your villa with everything in between.
It’s great that so many of the items are handcrafted and originate from Ibiza itself and you are truly spoilt for choice if you choose to purchase a true Ibizan treasure to take home.
Or you can even have a Hippy Market beer, a little commercial but fun.
As it takes several hours to explore all the stalls thoroughly there are plenty of food outlets available and for those visitors wanting to take it a little easier, musicians perform across the day from all over Ibiza and Spain creating a truly magical vibe.
Top Tip: Arrive early, it does get very busy early afternoon onwards.
Open from 10am till 7pm in April and October or 10am till 8pm May – September.
