What’s confirmed for Ibiza 2018
Although it’s the festive season it won’t be long before all our attention is focused on the Ibiza summer. So we thought we would bring you a round-up of what’s already been confirmed for Ibiza 2018.
This can only help add a little more festive cheer to the cold winter evenings as everyone starts to book their flights, hotels, villas and the like ready for another amazing summer on the White Isle.
Every year Ibiza changes and evolves, not always for the best, but it doesn’t seem to dampen the popularity of the island whether you are looking for a clubbing holiday or a relaxed beach based trip.
So what do we know so far? Well club events wise, we have already seen several big names confirm that they will be dancing the days and nights away in Ibiza next summer.
Defected at Eden returns after a hugely successful first year at the San Antonio super club, their 21 week season will kick off on Sunday the 20th May.
IMS (International Music Summit) Ibiza returns for it’s 11th year from the 23rd until the 25th May based at the Hard Rocks Hotel in Playa den Bossa. The 2018 edition will focus on a wellness agenda.
The finale of the event will be held at Dalt Vila on the evening of the 25th May and will unofficially kick off the 2018 summer season.

Es Paradis the world’s most beautiful club has already hinted that their fun parties Neon Glow and the water party will be back although no dates thus far.
Club Pacha has closed this winter and is undergoing a refurbishment although the details of what’s being changed are a closely guarded secret but with Hï Ibiza setting a new standard in the super club market the other clubs are having to fight for their place especially with the growth in daytime partying.
Last a couple of opening party dates have been confirmed with Cafe Mambo opening on the 11th May and Ocean Beach a week later on the 18th May although they will be open on selected dates from the 27th April with their relaxed poolside sessions.
Away from clubbing, there are several hotels going through a winter transformation.
Costa del Mar beside Calo des Moro in San Antonio is being turned into Wiki Woo after being purchased by the guys behind Ocean Beach, expect a funky boutique style.
The Acor Playa Hotel at Cala Gracio which has been left dormant in the last few years has reportedly been bought by the Dutch and will be converted into an adults-only hotel.
In Playa den Bossa Hotel Club Bahamas is also undergoing a total refurbishment by a trendy hotel chain.
The Blue Star Apartments nr Cala de Bou in San Antonio Bay are to become the Paradiso, where art meets Ibiza. We shall let the picture speak for itself.
It is great to see so many hotels being ungraded and refurbished across the island but it does worry us that this will see the prices skyrocket and with many becoming DINK (Double Income No Kids) friendly we hope that Ibiza will still be available to all in future years.
In other news, we believe the new coastal footpath/cycleway to connect Cala Gracio to Port des Torrent will start in 2018 and although it will take 5 years to complete it will be fantastic to see this evolve over next summer.
Away from the good news we have a few sad bits of news to confirm.
Ibiza Rocks have confirmed there will be no more live evening gigs due to licensing concerns so no more will the likes of Royal Blood, Primal Scream and The Kooks take to the stage and rock the night away.
The West End is likely to change forever with more plans to limit the hours and times of terraces although the backlash seen in the latest ideas may mean these changes won’t happen as fast as the local council would like.
So overall and even this far away from the start of the Ibiza summer season there are reasons to get excited and to start planning your trip. You can find a full list of regional flights from the UK here and check out our resort guide to where to stay in Ibiza in 2018.
